Joyaa Antares BSc (Hons), DO (UK), Grad Cert Neonatal & Infant Paediatric Manual Therapy, MSc (Epi), Osteopath
GC Osteopathy said goodbye to Joyaa Antares in November 2024. After twenty plus years on the Gold Coast, the last five in Mudgeeraba, it was time to move on. By early 2025, Joyaa will have relocated to the United Kingdom, specifically to the beautiful countryside of Devon, and he will be starting up a new practice that is largely paediatric based. His interest in, and commitment to osteopathy for paediatric care has grown over the years and he's undertaken research and extensive training in this area.
In 2020, and renewed in 2024, Joyaa was awarded recognition as an Advanced Paediatric Osteopath (tertiary) by Osteopathy Australia’s multidisciplinary review panel of health practitioners. This award recognises completion of further university qualifications in paediatrics or child health; demonstrated competence in paediatric clinical assessment and diagnosis; and demonstrated competence in clinical management for child movement, physical function and musculoskeletal health.
Joyaa has passed the baton to two locally trained osteopaths, Patty Heilmann and Andrew McLauchlan. Together they are assuming the responsibility of GC Osteopathy and they plan to grow the practice in their own individual ways. However, if you have been coming to GC Osteopathy for a long while and you are used to Joyaa's mode of treatment, you need not worry. Both Patty and Andrew lean towards the same style, so you will recognise a familiarity. 'Gently Does It' was Joyaa's catch-phrase and that will still apply. GC Osteopathy will continue to treat all ages - from the tiniest of babies right through to those in their 90s.
